All the Pradhan Mantri programs since 2014


  1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) – Launched on August 28, 2014, this financial inclusion program aimed to provide access to financial services like banking and savings accounts, remittances, credit, insurance, and pension to the marginalized sections of society.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) – Introduced on May 9, 2015, PMSBY is a government-backed accident insurance scheme offering accidental death and disability cover at a nominal premium of ₹12 per annum.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) – Also launched on May 9, 2015, PMJJBY is a life insurance scheme offering a renewable one-year term life cover of ₹2 lakh for death due to any reason at a premium of ₹330 per annum.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) – Announced on April 8, 2015, PMMY aims to provide financial assistance to micro-enterprises in the form of loans up to ₹10 lakh for non-farm income-generating activities.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Launched on June 25, 2015, PMAY aims to provide affordable housing to all urban and rural poor by 2022 through various components such as Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS), In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), and Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC).
  5. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) – Launched on July 15, 2015, PMKVY is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) aimed at enabling a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training to secure better livelihood opportunities.
  6. Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) – Introduced on September 17, 2015, PMKKKY is a welfare scheme aimed at ensuring sustainable livelihoods for affected people and areas in mining regions through mineral royalty contributions.
  7. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) – This initiative, launched on July 1, 2015, aims to provide quality generic medicines at affordable prices to the masses through Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs), thereby reducing the healthcare expenses of citizens.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) – Introduced on January 13, 2016, PMFBY is a crop insurance scheme aimed at providing financial support to farmers suffering crop loss/damage due to unforeseen events like natural disasters, pests, etc.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) – Initially launched in 2000 but continued and expanded by the BJP government, PMGSY aims to provide all-weather road connectivity to unconnected rural habitations.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) – Launched on May 1, 2016, PMUY aims to provide free LPG connections to women from below-poverty-line (BPL) households to relieve them from the health hazards of cooking on traditional stoves.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Gram Parivahan Yojana (PMGPY) – Launched on April 7, 2016, PMGPY aims to improve rural road connectivity by providing financial assistance to private sector operators for the purchase of buses for operation in rural areas.
  5. Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) – Announced on August 7, 2016, PMRPY is an incentive scheme for employers to encourage the generation of new employment by reimbursing the employer’s contribution to the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) for new employees joining the workforce.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) – Introduced on January 1, 2017, PMMVY is a maternity benefit program aimed at providing financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women for their first live birth, with the objective of improving maternal and child health outcomes.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Mahila Shakti Kendra (PMMSK) – Launched on March 8, 2017, PMMSK is a scheme under the Ministry of Women and Child Development aimed at empowering rural women through community participation and creating awareness on various issues related to women’s welfare.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (Saubhagya) – Launched on September 25, 2017, Saubhagya aims to provide electricity connections to all willing households in rural and urban areas to achieve universal electrification.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY) – Introduced on May 4, 2017, PMVVY is a pension scheme for senior citizens, offering them an assured return of 7.40% per annum payable monthly for 10 years.
  5. Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) – Launched on February 2017, PMGDISHA aims to make 6 crore rural households digitally literate by providing access to digital literacy tools and training programs.
  6. Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana – This scheme, announced on May 2017, aims to modernize food processing units and create infrastructure to reduce post-harvest losses, enhance food safety, and boost farmer income.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) – Also known as Ayushman Bharat, PMJAY was launched on September 23, 2018, to provide health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year to over 10 crore vulnerable families in India.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) – This scheme, aimed at socio-economic development of minority communities, was launched on April 8, 2018, with a focus on education, skill development, healthcare, and infrastructure development in minority-concentration areas.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) – Launched on September 12, 2018, PM-AASHA aims to ensure remunerative prices to farmers for their produce by providing procurement assistance, price support, and market assurance.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) – Announced on February 1, 2019, PM-Kisan aims to provide income support of ₹6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY) – Launched on September 12, 2019, PM-KMY is a pension scheme for small and marginal farmers, providing them with a minimum fixed pension of ₹3,000 per month on attaining the age of 60 years.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Innovative Learning Programme – DHRUV – Launched on October 10, 2019, DHRUV is a program aimed at nurturing talented students in science and mathematics from schools across the country and providing them with opportunities for advanced learning and mentorship.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana – Announced on September 12, 2019, this scheme aims to provide a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3,000 per month to small and marginal farmers after attaining the age of 60 years.
  5. Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Maan-dhan Yojana – Launched on July 22, 2019, this scheme targets providing a minimum monthly pension of Rs. 3,000 to small traders and retail shopkeepers after attaining the age of 60 years.
  6. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) – Announced on September 12, 2019, PM-KMY is a pension scheme for small and marginal farmers, providing them with a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3,000 per month on attaining the age of 60 years.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (Modified PMVVY) – Modified version of PMVVY, introduced on May 26, 2020, offering an assured return of 7.40% per annum payable monthly for 10 years, with a purchase limit of up to Rs. 15 lakhs per senior citizen.
  2. Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) – Launched on September 10, 2020, PMMSY aims to enhance fish production and productivity, doubling fishers’ incomes, and reducing post-harvest losses through modern infrastructure and better management practices in the fisheries sector.
  3. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (PMGKRA) – Introduced in June 2020, PMGKRA is a rural public works scheme aimed at providing employment opportunities to migrant workers who returned to their home states during the COVID-19 pandemic. It focuses on creating infrastructure in rural areas such as roads, housing, water conservation, and irrigation projects.
  4. Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) – Announced on April 2021, PMASBY aims to strengthen the country’s healthcare infrastructure and improve access to healthcare services, especially in rural and underserved areas, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  5. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) – Jan Aushadhi Suvidha Oxo-Biodegradable Sanitary Napkin Scheme – Launched on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021, this scheme aims to provide affordable and eco-friendly sanitary napkins to women across the country through Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
  1. Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) – This is the rural component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), aimed at providing housing for all in rural areas by 2022 through the construction of pucca houses for homeless and those living in kutcha houses.

This is a work in progress and will add more as I dig more into this. It will also be great to seek information about all these programs through RTI and see how effective have these programs been in terms of their implementation.
